An acoustic showcase concert will be held at the Poway Library at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 featuring the upbeat folk rock trio The Yes Team.

The library is located at 13137 Poway Road. The concert is free and open to an audience of all ages.

The Yes Team, who are part of the San Diego County Library Acoustic Showcase concert series, hopes to spread their sound and connect with their fans at the upcoming Poway library event.

Prior to their upcoming performance at the Poway Library, the group has already performed for several other libraries in the San Diego area. The Yes Team was perceived as a huge hit in the local community.

“We love the library shows,” band member Kinnie Dye said. “There’s always a really nice crowd and we actually get a chance to engage with our audience and talk to them.

The Yes Team started when band members Kinnie Dye, Jonathan Walsh, and TJ Moss bought a purple van and drove from New York City to San Diego and began to record their debut album “Back to the Sea” in August 2011. After selling out a 1,000 copies, they’re headed back to the studio to follow up with their sophomore EP “Life. Is. Good.”

Since then, the band has won an Emmy Award, multiple songwriting contests, and has played at most of San Diego’s major venues including House of Blues, Anthology, Humphrey’s Live, Winston’s, and many more.

The band says they seek to spread a message of positivity and harmony through their music to connect with their listeners. As the band states on their website, “It’s not just a band. It’s a way of thinking.”

“We try to bring community through harmony,” Dye said. “That’s our mission; to spread a little yes, and spread some positivity.”

The San Diego County Library Acoustic Showcase is a project that is dedicated to sharing world-class talent with the community and providing culture and entertainment for San Diego families.

Since the program began in 2010, 126 concerts have been held at 21 branches with 6,218 total attendees.
