This year, Angela Ordway will have been with Prudential California Realty of Rancho Bernardo for 12 years. She received her first license in 1982, issued in New Hampshire. Over 17 years ago, she relocated from the Boston, Mass., area and has been working in the real estate industry ever since.

This past year she was elected to her fourth two-year term serving on the board of directors of the San Diego Association of Realtors. She will be starting her seventh year serving on the board of directors for the California Association of Realtors and this year appointed as vice-chair for the Communications Advisory Committee.

Among her other accomplishments is being consistently ranked in the top 6 percent of Prudential’s sales professionals nationwide. Ordway also received the Prudential Leading Edge Award, which is achieved by only 6 percent of agents nationwide. In addition, she was a semi-finalist of the 2009, 2010 and most recently 2012 Realtor of the Year award with the San Diego Association of Realtors, with over 11,000 members. This year she was awarded SD Magazine 5 Star Customer Service award for the sixth year in a row, only 60 Realtors in the county are in this elite group of award winners.

As a Certified Relocation Specialist with Prudential Relocation and an accredited Buyer’s Representative, Ordway is able to help make the transition to San Diego a pleasurable one. She knows what it takes to move across this country with a family. “I am empathetic to their situation,” she says. “I let my clients know that I have been in their shoes too.

Her experience and talent give her the ability to make the moving experience an enjoyable one. “When I first moved to the area I was with Welcome Wagon International and visited over 3,500 homes in Poway and the surrounding communities,” she said. “I have a great insight to the many neighborhoods within the greater PUSD area.”

When it is time to sell, Ordway truly enjoys the marketing of homes and working with her clients to meet their goals and expectations. In today’s market place, sellers need to be realistic. “I encourage people to get their homes ready inside and out,” she said. According to Ordway, buyers need to be prepared and understand the process of purchasing a home. She believes the most important thing is to have your financial house in order. Get pre-approved with a reputable lender.

“Everyone needs to understand about short sales and foreclosures and how those properties are affecting the real estate market now more than ever,” Ordway said. “This will correct itself eventually. The most important thing to remember is that every real estate market is local.”

Ordway is also a mentor with the Rancho Bernardo branch of Prudential, working with new agents and teaching them to become successful in the real estate industry. She was vice president of the Poway Real Estate Professional marketing group and was also on the local board of directors of Rebuilding Together.
