Public’s help sought in identifying attempted bank robbery suspect

The FBI and San Diego Sheriff’s Department are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the man who tried to rob the US Bank branch Thursday, Jan. 11 at 12265 Scripps Poway Parkway.

At approximately 3 p.m. the suspect approached an employee sitting at a desk and presented a demand note for cash. The employee advised the suspect that they did not have access to any cash, at which time the suspect turned around and walked out of the bank.

No injuries were reported and no weapon observed.

Witnesses described the robber as Hispanic in his late 20s to early 30s, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall with a stocky build.

He was wearing a black baseball cap; black, wrap-around sunglasses; gloves; black/gray jeans; and white tennis shoes
