OLD-FASHIONED FOURTH OF JULY

  • Gettysburg re-enactments highlight Poway’s Old-Fashioned Fourth of July from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Old Poway Park. An 11 a.m. celebration at Veterans Park, across Midland Road, will feature the unveiling of new commemoration tiles, cake and the firing of the cannon. Fireworks at Poway High School begin at 9 p.m. Gates open at 7 p.m.

SPIRIT OF THE FOURTH -

Rancho Bernardo’s Spirit of the Fourth kicks off at 7 a.m. with a pancake breakfast in Webb Park, followed by a community fair at 9 a.m. A memorial service is at 10:45 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial. The parade begins at 3:30 p.m. with entertainment and fireworks from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at Bernardo Heights Middle School. For more details, visit www.spiritofthefourth.org.

4S RANCH FIREWORKS

  • Watch the 9 p.m. fireworks show from the Del Norte High School stadium, 16601 Nighthawk Lane, 4S Ranch. Gates open at 7 p.m. No chairs, coolers, pets, alcohol or tobacco. Parking at the school is $5 with proceeds going to the 4S Ranch Boys & Girls Club.
