Hikers airlifted due to heat
(CNS) - Two hikers suffering from the heat, one at Cowles Mountain in Mission Trails Regional Park and the other at Iron Mountain off Highway 67 between Lakeside and Poway, were airlifted to the bottoms of those mountains and taken to hospitals for treatment, according to a San Diego Fire- Rescue dispatcher.
“Both victims were airlifted to the bottom of the mountain and transported by ground ambulance to hospitals for treatment of their non-life threatening conditions,” the dispatcher said.
The Cowles Mountain hiker was not identified. The Iron Mountain hiker was female, the dispatcher said.
