Investor experience helps Richard Novey as Realtor

Richard Novey of Realty Experts began his career in real estate as an investor. As a member of the North San Diego Creative Investment Association and the San Diego Creative Investment Association, he rehabbed several properties in Southern California and across the country. Currently he is part of a monthly Mastermind group who meet to discuss the latest trends and developments in investment techniques.

Novey says that his education in the investment side makes him a better Realtor, understanding the concerns of the buyer and being able to provide creative solutions to problems for which the average homeowner has little or no context.

Knowing the importance of a good education, in addition to his course work for his real estate license, Novey has a business degree from the University Of Southern California and is in the real estate coaching program with Tom Ferry, where he applies what he has learned to advanced lead-generation techniques, mega open houses, monthly marketing campaigns including newsletters, expired listings, Notice of Trust Sale campaigns, agent referrals, door-knocking campaigns. His newest idea is Poolside Chats about real estate where he interviews vendors and suppliers about their services, including escrow, lenders, title, roofers, tree specialists, home photographers, etc. for his website.

Richard is the District RAP Representative for District 7 as well as being on the Valley Center Coordinating Committee for the North San Diego California Association of Realtors, a member of the Valley Center Trails Committee, he was an original member of the Valley Center Community Initiative as well as having done two shows at the Valley Center Community Theater.

On March 30 this year, Novey will be undertaking his most challenging role as the Easter Bunny in full costume for the annual Escondido Easter egg hunt. Look for the video of Novey in his bunny suit riding his motor scooter or friend him on Facebook to see the photos!

Novey is a Premier Zillow agent. He likes to tell a story about a couple who came to him to buy their first home from a Zillow referral. They called back a few days later to say that the bank will loan them money to either build the school in Africa or to buy the house, but not for both. They chose to build the school. When they called and told him, he said, “You made the right choice.” He called them every few months to inquire about the school and finally, a year later, they were approved again to buy a house. They closed escrow last November. “When you see the faces of first-time home buyers getting to live the dream, well that’s why I love this business!”

Prior to his career in real estate, Novey was a 19-year veteran of the film business, having been involved in the production and distribution of over 246 pictures in the last 11 years including 35 major theatrical releases for Warner Bros.
