Prep Football: Poway High falls to Ramona

Share

The Ramona High football team is playing like a team on a mission and Poway was its latest victim.

The undefeated Bulldogs led just 7-0 through a quarter before routing the visiting Titans 49-7 Friday night in a Palomar League game.

Ramona (7-0, 2-0 Palomar League) has outscored its first two league opponents now 79-7 and are in a first-place tie with Torrey Pines (2-0). Those two will meet in two weeks, but first the Bulldogs will have a huge non-league test with Oceanside.

Meanwhile, it was the third straight loss for Poway (2-5, 0-2). The Titans have scored seven points or less in two of its last three games and in four games total this year. Poway, which already has a spot reserved in the Open Division playoffs regardless of its finish, will host Westview next week.
