Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects in the robbery at gunpoint of a Poway pizza shop earlier this month. The robbery took place around 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6 at the Domino’s Pizza at 12265 Scripps Poway Parkway.

At around 9:45 p.m. the first suspect, a black adult male, entered and ordered a pizza, using the name “Javid,” according to detectives from the Poway sheriff’s station. Once he got his pizza he exited the store. Detectives said about 10 minutes later the second suspect, another black male adult, entered the same Domino’s Pizza with a handgun and demanded cash.

Detectives believe that the first suspect may have been casing the business. Witnesses saw him getting out of the passenger side of a highlighter yellow Chevy Impala before walking into Domino’s Pizza. He was also seen making hand signals to someone in the same car while waiting for his pizza. At one point, he actually walked out of Domino’s, went to the passenger side of the Impala and was talking with the driver.

The first suspect is described as a black male between 19 and 23 years old. He is about 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs between 165 and 175 pounds and looked like he worked out. He has short brown hair with fuzzy sideburns and a goatee and was wearing a tank top and a blue baseball cap.

Suspect number two, who was armed with a handgun, is described as black male between 23 and 25 years old, weighing about 180 pounds with chubby arms and big hands. He was wearing a gray beanie over is face with the eye and mouth holes cut out. The mouth area of the beanie was stitched back up as if the suspect wanted to look like the Joker in the Batman movies. He was wearing a cream collared shirt with a black tie, black Dickie pants, black and white Nike shoes and black and white gloves. He had a zigzag line tattoo on each side of his neck that could be snakes of lightning bolts.

The vehicle used by the suspects is a 2006 to 2012, four-door, highlighter-yellow Chevy Impala with tinted windows and black 21- to 22-inch wheels. It had a silver Impala emblem behind the side rear windows.

Anyone with information on the identity and/or location of the suspects is asked to call the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at 888-580-8477. Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case. Anonymous email and text messages can be sent in via
