Prep Boys Soccer: Poway High rebounds from first loss with two wins

Share

The Poway High boys soccer team did not mull long about its first loss of the season to Scripps Ranch Friday night in the opener of the San Diego High Tournament.

Instead, the Titans got over it with a pair of victories the very next day.

Poway edged Eastlake 2-1 Saturday morning then came back later in the day to beat Olympian 2-0 to capture its pool and advance to Monday’s semifinal against Point Loma at 5:30 p.m. at San Diego High School.

Travis Colbert and Gersom Galindo scored a goal apiece in the win over Eastlake. Kellen Gallagher and Miguel Berry each found the back of the net once in the win over Olympian. Goalkeeper Zach Miller had two saves in the shutout victory.

Poway (6-1-1) is the defending champion of the San Diego High Tournament.
