‘Tabletops and Tea’ tickets on sale

The Poway Unit of Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary will host its 12th annual “Tabletops and Tea” from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 26 at the Grand Del Mar in the Elizabeth Ballroom.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Acute Cardiac Unit of Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego.

This year’s theme “At the Chef’s Table” will feature tables designed around famous chefs, which are raffled off to a lucky winner. In addition to the tabletops and luncheon, there will be a silent auction, shopping boutique, program and live auction.

Emmy Award-winning news anchor Barbara-Lee Edwards of CBS News 8 will be the hostess of this year’s tea.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Justin Yea, the medical director of the Acute Cardiac Unit at the hospital and also an attending physician and clinical professor at the Department of Pediatrics at UCSD. The 30-bed unit offers care for patients of all ages with congenital or acquired heart disease. The unit includes a cardiovascular intensive care unit and a cardiac step-down unit to care for cardiology and cardiovascular surgery patients when they are most critically ill.

The Poway Unit of Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary is comprised of 54 members who participate in putting together “Tabletops and Tea.” Chairs for this year’s event are Missi Faucher and Caroline Lepore, whom are chairing the event for a second year. The 2015 chairperson of the Poway unit is Karen McPartland.
