Van crashes into Poway home

A van driven by a sleepy neighbor crashed into a house on Arbolitos Drive Monday afternoon, causing extensive damage but no injuries.

Sheriff’s deputies on the scene said the male driver was on his way home from work about 4 p.m. when he allegedly fell asleep. The van jumped the curb, went in between two trees and struck the home at 14000 Arbolitos Drive at the corner of the garage. The driver reportedly suffered minor scrapes and scratches.

No one was home at the time of the incident, deputies said.
