Prep Girls Soccer: Titans beat Hilltop, showdown with Broncos next

Erica Novak and Lauren Hess both found the back of the net once, as the sixth-seeded Poway High girls soccer team knocked off No. 11 Hilltop Wednesday in the first round of the San Diego Section Division I playoffs.

The Titans will travel to rival and third-seeded Rancho Bernardo Saturday for a 5 p.m. quarterfinal match. The two have played twice this season, with each team winning once.

Taylor Richards registered an assist in Wednesday’s victory and goalkeeper Allie Seifert continued her stellar play, making seven saves.
