Cengis Sayim had no goals entering Wednesday night’s match against Mt. Carmel. That changed in a hurry for the Rancho Bernardo sophomore.

Sayim found the back of the net four times and assisted Sahil Gupta’s score, as the Broncos easily took care of the Sundevils 6-0 in a Palomar League game.

Rancho Bernardo (10-3-2, 2-1) rebounded from a 4-0 loss to Westview with a clean sheet of its own and six goals. The Broncos hope to carry the momentum into Friday’s game against rival Poway at 5 p.m.

The Titans were blanked for the second time this season en route to dropping their second straight Palomar League game.

Poway, the defending league champs, are 1-2 in the early going and will need to turn things around in a hurry to successfully defend the crown. The Titans will have a chance to do so Friday night, when it hosts rival Rancho Bernardo.
