Baseball: Former PHS star Nevin smacks first pro home run

Tyler Nevin, a 2015 Poway High graduate, blasted his first professional home run on Monday.

The son of former MLB star Phil Nevin drilled a home run over the left-field wall for the Grand Junction Rockies in Billings, Montana. Tyler rounded the bases and got the silent treatment in the dugout (check out the video here).

Tyler, who was selected by the Colorado Rockies with the 38th overall pick in the 2015 MLB Draft, is hitting .293 with eight RBI, seven doubles a triple and the home run. The Grand Junction Rockies is the rookie affiliates of the Colorado Rockies.
