Del Norte High School had 435 seniors cross the stage in their campus stadium Thursday as they closed the chapter on their high school years.

The seniors walked into the stadium to “Pomp and Circumstance” played by the Del Norte High School Concert Band. This was followed by the band playing the National Anthem as the colors were presented by the U.S. Marine Corps Color Guard.

The ceremony began at 3 p.m. It included senior Joshua Lee presenting the commencement speech. Also honored were the class valedictorian, Flora Li, who earned the top honor with a 4.5 G.P.A., and salutatorian Kevin Ma, who earned a 4.49 G.P.A.

“Whenever You Remember” was sung by Del Norte High Senior Choir members Mallory Broberg, Sophie Chin, Myron Cuenca, Liam Dryden, Stephanie Fillmore, Sarah Koeck, Cory Lane, Kim Phan, Grant Sheehan, Taylor Tollestrup, Aidan Turner and Young Woo Son.

To celebrate their achievement, Del Norte’s new graduates returned to the campus at 9:30 p.m. so they could be transported to their “Speeding to the Del Norte Finish Line” Grad Nite party at Miramar Speed Circuit. The all-night event’s activities included go-kart racing, laser tag, zip lines, rock climbing, a magician, dancing, prizes and lots of food.
