Rancho Bernardo man facing 31 charges for alleged child porn, lewd acts

A 64-year-old Rancho Bernardo man jailed on suspicion of possessing child pornography and other sex crimes against children allegedly victimized patrons of his ex-wife’s day care center, Escondido police said.

Abdullah Sediqi was arrested Wednesday in Escondido and booked into the Vista Detention Facility on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14, a sex crime with a child 10 years or younger, annoying or molesting a child and possessing child pornography.

Sediqi’s arrest for allegedly attempting to take up-skirt photos at a store led to the discovery of the child pornography, police said.

As of Thursday, Sediqi was still in custody. While there is a $20,000 bail noted, there is also a note in his file saying “not eligible for release, bailable cases, but no release.” Sheriff’s Department records show his arraignment is scheduled for Friday afternoon regarding 31 charges. They are two counts of annoying a child, four counts of disorderly/lewd conduct — all misdemeanors — plus one count for a sex crime with a child 10 years or younger, six counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and 24 counts for possession of child pornography — all felonies.

Police said several of Sadiqi’s alleged victims were children staying at a day care center owned and operated by his ex-wife. It has been reported by various media outlets that Kid’s Castle Day Care — also known as Sediqi Family Day Care — is on Matinal Road in Rancho Bernardo’s Westwood neighborhood.
