Poway retail update: Perry Ford construction nears completion

Share

The arrival of spring is bringing several new businesses to Poway, as well as a step forward for an auto dealer’s remodel.

Perry Ford of Poway, at 12740 Poway Road is nearing the completion of its new building and employees should be moving into the new building in the first week in April, said Mario Lopez, general manager of Perry Ford of Poway.

Construction on the new building began late last spring. Once the new building is finished, demolition on the old building next door will begin.

Lopez said that stage 2 of the project, the old building, should be finished by June.

The new building is 17,500 square feet and has been built next to the existing 14,500-square-foot repair center. A central feature is the 30-by-100-foot-wide curved glass window wall, as well as the 35-foot clock tower. The remodel plans were approved by the City Council in August 2013.

“The new building is taking shape and looks phenomenal. Its tilt-up construction along with polished aluminum make it a true icon along with the clock tower. The front of the building being mostly glass really makes a statement and gives the building a warm contemporary look,” said Lopez during the construction.

Poway will also be getting a new place to eat with Bruski Burgers and Brew, which will be opening in late March or early April at 12622 Poway Road.

This will be the second location for Bruski, in addition to the original location in Scripps Ranch.

Bruski is a family-owned casual dining restaurant that offers chef-prepared comfort food like burgers, sandwiches, salads and paninis. It also offers 24 craft beers on tap from several local breweries, including Stone and Ballast Point, as well as wine, cocktails, sake and coffee drinks.

Southwest Guns and Gear, at 12759 Poway Road across from Perry Ford of Poway, is nearing its opening, according to the store’s Facebook page, and as of March 31, its hours will be 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays.
