Tickets now on sale for San Diego County Fair concerts

Share

Though the fair is still a ways off, music fans can now purchase tickets to several of the San Diego County Fair’s concerts.

This year’s fair will be “A Fair to Remember: a Celebration of World’s Fairs and Balboa Park,” to commemorate the centennial anniversary of the 1915 Panama-California Exposition held in Balboa Park. It will run from June 5 to July 5.

There will be a stellar lineup of both free and ticketed concerts at the fair this year, ranging from Peter Frampton and Cheap Trick to Kansas and much more.

The Toyota Summer Concert Series is full of big names this year. Most concerts begin at 7:30 p.m., though there are some exceptions. Concerts are held on the Heineken Grandstand Stage.

Ticket prices vary depending on age, whether you already have fair admission, how close you sit to the stage and whether you buy your tickets online through Ticketmaster (which includes convenience fees) or at the fairground.

Most concerts have a free admission section with unreserved seating on the third and fifth levels for those who purchased fair admittance; however, reserved seats closer to the stage requires a separate ticket.

Reserved seating on the second and fourth levels is $30 for adults and $24 for seniors 62 and up and children ages 6 through 12 (this does not include Ticketmaster fees).

Seating on the terrace is $36 adults, $30 seniors and children (Ticketmaster fees not included). These seats are at a four-person table, where you can order food and drink.

Tickets purchases online through Ticketmaster include fair admission for that day.

Some concerts do not have free seating with fair admission, including the Peter Frampton and Cheap Trick concert, as well as Little Big Town, Spirit West Coast and Austin Mahone. These concerts have separate ticket prices that can be seen on sdfair.com or ticketmaster.com.

The lineup for the Toyota Summer Concert Series includes Gary Allen on June 6; Banda MS on June 7; Peter Frampton and Cheap Trick on June 10; Beatles tribute group The Fab Four: The Ultimate Tribute on June 11; Los Tigres Del Norte on June 14; Christina Perri on June 17; Switchfoot on June 19; Grupo Intocable on June 21; Fifth Harmony on June 23; Little Big Town with Ashley Monroe on June 24; Spirit West Coast featuring Third Day, Rend Collective, and Brandon Heath on June 25; the 11th annual Gospel Festival featuring Donald Lawrence & Co. and Tamela Mann on June 27; Espinoza Paz on June 28; Austin Mahone on June 30; DigiTour on July 2; Kansas on July 3 and Julión Álvarez on July 5.

The fair also features the Ford Dealers Paddock Concert Series, with concerts beginning at 9 p.m.

These are free concerts, but some include limited reserved seating that will go on sale on Saturday, March 28. The ticket cost has not been announced.

A full list of performers has not been announced, but include Iron Butterfly, Tanya Tucker, Average White Band, Mindi Abair and The Boneshakers and more.
