Prep Boys Tennis: Nighthawks, Broncos to collide in first round of playoffs

The Del Norte High boys tennis team got on the opposite side of the bracket as No. 1 Torrey Pines, but it will have to get through rival Rancho Bernardo to advance.

The Nighthawks (19-1) were tabbed the No. 2 seed and will host the No. 7 Broncos in the first round of the CIF San Diego Section Open Division playoffs Tuesday at 3 p.m. The winner will play the winner between No. 6 Canyon Crest and No. 3 Westview in the semifinals.

The Falcons (24-0) are the top seed, while La Jolla is the No. 4 seed in the Open Division.

Poway landed the No. 12 seed in Division I and will travel to No. 5 Point Loma for a first-round match on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
