Looking to rent or purchase medical equipment? ABT Medical Supply has you covered.

The business, at 15721 Bernardo Heights Parkway in Rancho Bernardo, has everything from lightweight wheelchairs, walkers and crutches to hospital beds and portable oxygen tanks and offers equipment both for private rental and for sale.

ABT Medical Supply has been serving the medical supply needs of San Diego County for 13 years, said Office Manager Noris Pothier.

“We offer competitive pricing and quick delivery, both same-day and next-day,” said Pothier.

Pothier, who has been with the company for 12 years, said it is a small organization with seven employees.

“You don’t go through different chains (when you call us),” she said. “When you call, someone will pick up and be able to help you.”

Despite its small size, ABT Medical Supply isn’t short on what it can offer, and can handle everything from a simple pair of crutches to outfitting an entire room for a patient, including hospital beds, gel and air mattresses, trapeze bats and patient lifts.

ABT Medical Supply also has a variety of mobility aids for rental or sale, ranging from canes and crutches to walkers, knee walkers, transport chairs and lightweight wheelchairs. Back, knee and wrist braces are also available.

There are also a variety of options to help in the bathroom and shower as well, including shower chairs, elevated toilet seats and safety frames.

CPAP and BiPAP users can also get their humidifiers, masks and headgear through ABT Medical Supply if they have a prescription.

“It’s really simple,” said Pothier. “Call and say what you need, we can handle everything over the phone.”

Pothier said ABT Medical Supply also works with four major companies and some smaller accounts for its medical supplies to try and keep a good selection for its customers at competitive prices.

The company works with Medicare, though recent changes means the selection for Medicare users is narrower than those clients with managed care and HMOs, said Pothier.

Pothier said she enjoyed helping senior citizens and sick people. “I enjoy making their lives easier,” she said. She also likes working with doctor’s offices and home health companies to get equipment ready for patients heading home from the hospital or a care facility, she said.

ABT Medical Supply is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and closed Saturday and Sunday. For a full overview of what products they offer, call 619-698-6808 or visit abtmed.com.
