RB High’s Mitchell shines in PG All-American game

Rancho Bernardo High senior Calvin Mitchell went 1-for-4 with a run to help the West defeat the East 13-0 in the Perfect Game All-American Classic Sunday night at Petco Park. Mitchell laced a lead off single to right field in the second inning to spark a five-run rally and the West never looked back en route to the shutout. Mitchell also participated in the home run derby, finishing in second place. He lost to the nation’s No. 1 overall prospect Hunter Greene of Stevenson Ranch, California in the final 11-4.
