Fireworks show returns to 4S Ranch

Fireworks are returning to 4S Ranch’s Independence Day celebration, with a free show available to all set to blast off at dusk at Del Norte High School, officials said.

As in years past, the 4S Ranch Master Association is organizing an afternoon carnival. It will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, July 4 in Linear Park, just south of Monterey Ridge Elementary School, 17117 4S Ranch Parkway.

Admission is $5 per child, ages 2 to 12, who are 4S Ranch residents, if wristbands are purchased by 2 p.m. Friday, July 1 at 4SConnect.com, said Paola Scrimsher, the association’s general manager.

4S Ranch residents who do not buy in advance and non-residents attending the carnival can purchase child wristbands at the event for $10 per child.

She said the wristbands will give children access to all the carnival rides, games and other activities.

In addition, all adults and children under age 2, will be admitted for free.

According to organizers, the carnival will include games, prizes, food truck vendors, rides, music and other fun activities.

After putting the community’s fireworks show on hiatus last year due to renovations in Del Norte High’s stadium, the show is back, with gates opening at 7 p.m. and fireworks going off at dusk. The high school is at 16601 Nighthawk Lane.

Scrimsher said the association decided to not charge any admission or parking fees, and all are welcome to attend. However, attendees cannot bring pets, glass or lawn chairs to the high school.
