Meet a seach-and-rescue dog Wednesday at Poway Library

UPDATED to reflect new start time of 10:30 a.m.

Youngsters and their parents will have an opportunity to meet a search-and-rescue dog when he and his handler appear at the Poway Library at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 6.

Wishbone, a beagle, is a member of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department SAR K-9 team. He and team leader Pam Medhurst will be on hand for a special reading of a short book about the dog, “Wishbone the Beagle: The Smell and Tell Game.” The book was written by Medhurst and illustrated by Mary Ann Bennett.

Free copies of the book will be distributed at this free family-friendly event.
